College ready?
Tuesday, August 28, 2012
I think some schools don't prepare students enough to be ready for college. It's basically like going from 5th grade to 9th grade in one year. So many students drop out because they think its too hard and they are right, they were underprepared by their school system, goig frm not having to study and pass, to struggling to keep up. If more students took the AP or DC classes we weould have less rop outs in the College system. Also, in High School, you can get secnd chances if you don't like your grades, and you can do extra credit or re-tests, in College, some professers simply think you should have done well enough your first try, and if you don't, well, then thats your fault. Even comming from a low income household only makes the college experiance even harder, trying to keep up with scholarship papers, class work, and jobs its almost too much for one person. But, I think schols should at least at students junior year, should start acting and mayb teaching the classes like a college course so students have some kind of idea what its like to be there, and maybe havea better chance in graduating.
